Are you a matcha manufacturer in Japan?

No — we are a supplier, and for most buyers that distinction matters less than it first sounds. Matcha reaches an export order through several separate roles: growers grow and pick tencha, processors turn fresh leaf into storable tencha, and mills grind that tencha into powder. Very few companies perform all of them. TNK & Company is a Japanese company that works directly with growers, and we match tea, samples, and quotes to your specification and process rather than selling from a fixed catalog. Can I buy matcha wholesale direct from Japan?

Yes, in the sense that matters commercially — though "direct from the farm" rarely describes a full supply chain. A single farm seldom mills, blends, or handles export documentation itself, because its business is growing tea. The useful version of direct is a counterparty that sources from named growers rather than an anonymous spot market and can tell you how the tea is blended. We work directly with growers and coordinate export through to delivery.

What is the minimum order quantity for wholesale matcha?

Trial lots start at 10kg, and we quote up to full container loads. In practice the minimum moves with how much customization an order carries: a blend already in production can be sold in smaller increments than one milled to your own specification, which needs a dedicated milling run, and retail-ready or private-label packaging carries its own separate minimum on top of the tea. Samples are available well below any production minimum.

Do you offer private label or white label matcha?

We quote both on request, and the difference is worth settling before you ask for a price. Where a distinction is drawn, white label means putting your brand on a blend the supplier already makes, while private label means the product is built to your own specification. White label ships faster and starts at a lower minimum, but you do not control the spec and the supplier can change it. Private label takes longer and starts higher, and the specification is yours to hold a supplier to.

Can I get samples before placing an order?

Yes. Tell us your use case, target grade, and volume, and we propose matcha matched to your application and arrange samples you can evaluate in your own process. Note that a single approved sample tells you about one lot, not about what a supplier can repeat across seasons — for a recurring program it is worth agreeing a written specification covering cultivar, particle size, color, moisture, and tolerance bands, so reorders can be tested against a shared standard.

What does wholesale matcha cost per kilogram?

We quote per order rather than publishing a price list, because the figure moves with grade, cultivar, harvest timing, volume tier, packaging format, and freight mode. A per-kilogram number quoted without those fixed is not comparable between suppliers, which is why comparing quotes on price alone tends to mislead. Send us the specification and volume you have in mind and we will quote against it.
